Ethiopia Guji Tuku
Whole Bean Coffee
Price range: $23.00 through $37.00
This coffee comes from the highland community of Gerba Doku in the Guji Zone, an area known for small family farms, old growth cultivars, and some of the highest elevations in southern Ethiopia. Farms here sit above 2000 meters and are planted with diverse heirloom varieties that have been passed down through generations. These cultivars are prized for their complexity, floral potential, and the vibrant character they produce when grown at altitude.
The Gerba Doku Tuku mill handles meticulous natural processing. Whole cherries are delivered by surrounding smallholders, sorted by hand, and dried slowly on raised beds with frequent turning. This careful approach preserves the clarity that Guji coffees are known for while adding depth that comes from patient sun drying.
In the cup, the result is expressive and layered with a clean structure that shines across many roast levels. It works beautifully for pour over, filter, and other manual brew methods. This release is a strong example of what makes the Guji region one of the most admired growing areas in Ethiopia.
