Sumatra Koperasi Organic
Whole Bean Coffee
$22.00 – $35.00Price range: $22.00 through $35.00
This certified organic coffee comes from Wagiman and Yasmin, two producers working with Koperasi Coop in the highlands of Aceh Tengah, Sumatra. Their farms sit around 1,400 meters above sea level and rely on natural fertilizers, including coffee husks and cow manure, to maintain healthy, productive soil.
The coffee is processed using Giling Basah, Indonesia’s traditional wet hulled method. Developed in response to Sumatra’s humid climate, this process gives the region’s coffees their distinctive depth, rounded body, and gently earthy character. This lot also carries the Grade 1 TP designation, meaning it was triple picked and carefully hand sorted for exceptional quality.
Approachable yet full of character, this bean performs beautifully across medium to dark roast levels. It makes a rich drip coffee, a full bodied French press, and an especially satisfying espresso.Tasting Notes
